CoreLogic announced that it has acquired Case-Shiller, which will come with rights to publish the nationally known home-price index, the S&P/Case Shiller.
CoreLogic will rename the index to “CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indexes.” It will continue to offers its own CoreLogic HPI, which is also a compilation of home-price data.
“The CoreLogic HPI and the Case-Shiller Indexes are complementary measures of home price trends utilizing the same baseline methodology of studying repeat home sales, the company noted,” HousingWire reports.
Previous to the sale, Case-Shiller was owned by Fiserv.
